Course Overview

Graduates in the “interdisciplinary” master's degree course in Science and Management of Sport and Movement Activities will acquire interdisciplinary competence related both to the management of sports clubs and the training at amateur and professional level. In particular, students will acquire:
- specific skills in the organisation and management of movement and sport activities and facilities;
- advanced knowledge of the institutional and policy contexts framing sports activities, with special attention to anti-doping regulation; 

- knowledge of the organisation, coordination, direction and management of sports events;
- expertise in the economic management of sports and socio-medical facilities; 

- advanced scientific knowledge in the field of high-level sports activities; 

- knowledge and skills aiming at reaching the highest levels of performance in professional competitions through advanced training techniques.
- specific skills and advanced knowledge of the organisation, coordination, direction and management of firms and organizations operating in economic sectors connected and/or related to the sport and movement sciences field.
Graduates will also be able to communicate in at least one foreign language and to use the main IT tools in the specific fields of their expertise.

Course Characteristics

The “interdisciplinary” Master’s degree course in Science and Management of Sport and Movement Activities combines activities aimed at the acquisition of advanced cultural, methodological, technical and practical abilities for the planning, coordination and technical direction of movement and sports activities, with specific studies in the fields of economics, law, psycho-sociology, meant to develop skills in the organisation and management of different kinds of services and facilities for sports and movement, and within firms and organizations connected and/or related to the specific sport and movement sciences context.

Career prospects

Graduates in Science and Management of Sport and Movement Activities can find employment with the public and private sectors, dealing with national and local institutions as far as movement and sport activities are concerned. They apply promotion and communication techniques when offering services in the public and private sectors. They manage internal and external relationships in relation to contracts and agreements. They coordinate and supervise the activities of sports centres and organize events in the fields of movement, tourism, leisure activities and sports. They supervise safety and hygiene in the workplace according to current regulations about health protection. They organise and manage wellness activities. They plan and manage activities and services within firms and organizations connected and/or related to the specific sport and movement sciences context.
