The Bachelor’s degree course in Economics and Business trains students to understand the structure and the functioning of economic systems and financial markets. Classes and teaching methodologies are interdisciplinary, combining the acquisition of skills along different dimensions of Economics (micro- and macro-economics, economic policy, finance, econometrics) with expertise in business studies (financial accounting, business organization and corporate finance), a solid methodological grounding in economic analysis (mathematics and statistics), and a thorough knowledge of the basic principles of trade, public and private law. The syllabus comprises 20 modules in the economic, business, statistical-mathematical and legal areas (with core and elective modules), an IT and a foreign language exam, a stage (or seminar activity) and a final examination (written report), totaling 180 ECTS.

Course Characteristics

During the first two years, the educational curriculum aims at enabling students to acquire basic knowledge and skills in the various economic and business disciplines, in addition to solid methodological frameworks to support economic analysis, the basic principles of law, a foreign language and IT skills.
During the third year, students can choose one of the three available curricula - economics, environment and sustainability, professional - which offer a wide range of classes selected to address more specific goals and provide students with additional skills adopting a theoretical and operational approach.
The course ends with a stage or seminar activity (aimed respectively at facilitating students’ entry into the job market and at completing their studies by participating in cycles of seminars) and a final exam consisting in a written report, an in-depth case-study within one of the degree course subjects, aimed at ensuring that students have achieved the necessary skills of synthesis, critical processing, and communication.
Frontal teaching is integrated with the opportunities offered by the university e-learning platform. In the section dedicated to this degree course, students can not only consult the teaching material used during classes, but also find in-depth information on specific topics in blended mode (slides with audio commentary by the teacher and self-assessment tests), taking advantage of online tutoring in some cases.
