Course Overview

The Bachelor Degree in Business Administration aims at educating students in the fields of management, and accounting, and preparing them to work in the main functional areas of private and state-owned firms, both in the industrial and service domain. The peculiarities of this bachelor refers to:
a) a strong emphasis on management, and on domains connected to the main companies’ functions, such as marketing, organization, operations and logistics;
b) the integration of the educational activities concerning diverse disciplines, such as business economics, economics, law and mathematics/statistics;
c) the possibility to get a Double Degree in cooperation with one of the following Universities: Université de Bordeaux, TU Chemnitz, UBT.
The curriculum has been designed to help graduates build up a professional profile suitable to perform different in company functions – such as business organisation, finance, programming and control, administrative and fiscal services – as well as to develop specific skills, also gained through elective modules and traineeships. During the third year, students decide if they want to follow a curriculum in Controlling or in Management, and they can also choose to follow the courses of the third year in English so to get more prepared for an international career.


Course Characteristics

The course lasts three years: the first year focuses on the main concepts and principles necessary to develop competencies in the field of Business Administration, namely on: microeconomics, mathematics, law, business administration. The second year aims at developing students’ knowledge in the domains of statistics, political economics, management, finance, organization and business. The third year focuses on functions, and students can choose among three paths. The management path with courses connected to marketing, operations and logistics, inter-firms cooperation. In the controlling path, students can choose exams connected to advisory, accounting and complete their preparation on the law side. The English path is mostly focused on management and function, but all courses are offered in English. During this year, students can follow a traineeship, and prepare their final project, which will be valued by a commission of professors.
In addition, the curriculum offers students the possibility to improve their linguistic and it skills. This program has a strongly international nature and tries to train graduates in a wider European perspective, by offering the opportunity to earn a double degree choosing among three different universities: the University of Bordeaux in France, the Technische Universitaet Chemnitz in Germany, and the University of Business and Technology of Pristina, in Kosovo.

Career prospects

Modules are designed to help students to build a professional profile suited to the business functional areas – organization, marketing, production, logistics, finance, planning and control, administrative and fiscal services – as well as to develop specific competences in the professional advisory activity, in auditing, in the organization of financial services, and strategic planning. The degree course covers the subject areas required by the Italian National Register of Accountants to practice one of the professions listed in section B, after a period of apprenticeship and a Public Qualifying Examination.
After the Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, graduates will be able to operate in all kinds of companies and markets; to make their decisions on issues concerning several corporate functional areas; to understand and use typical tools for company management; to use the models of quantitative and qualitative evaluation of decision-making problems; to apply the most appropriate managerial techniques to the solution of such problems; to represent and formalize - through their communication skills - management problems, relevant solutions and the subsequent qualitative and quantitative effects; to use the tools for electronic data processing in order to support the formalization of decisions, evaluation of alternatives, and decisions implementation.
