WORK LAW AND HUMAN RESOURCES - MODULE II

The aim of this course is to provide students a solid preparation for acquiring skills and competences for understanding and analyzing problems and questions related to building the relationship between the individuals and the organizations and to strategic and operational choices and optiong for strategically managing human resources within organizations with particular attention to organizations operating in tourism. It is necessary to take the exam of Organizzazione Aziendale/Organization of International Business
Trade Unions law: collective bargaining; trade union freedom; union presence in workplace; strike.
Self-employment and subordinate work.
Contractual types in subordinate work: fixed-term contract, part-time, intermittent, accessory, apprenticeship.

Employees' framing and job discipline.
The duties of diligence and loyalty of the worker.
Governing, controlling and disciplining the employer.
The remuneration. Severance pay.
Suspension of the employment relationship. The Cassa Integrazione guadagni.
The administration of work and the agreement.
The transfer of business.
Termination of employment: resignation and dismissal. Collective dismissal.
The unavailability of workers' rights: Art. 2113 c.c ..

Expected learning outcomes
Knowledge and understanding:
The student will demonstrate to know about the dynamics of functioning with renard to the relationship between individuals and organizations, identifying human resource management policies that contribute to sustain human re source value cycle, the main questions and problems concerning human re source management in International businesses, orgnaizations and contexts in which diversity and multi-cultural variety tendo emerge as fundamental element for value creation and welfare of communities.
Applying Knowledge and understanding:
The student will demonstrate to know how to apply the knowledges acquired in the theoretical part in order to face and solve questions regarding human resource management analyzing study cases and exercises
The student will demonstrate awareness and ability to elaborate an own vision with regard to human resource management questions and policies proposing satisfying solutions for solving problems.
Students will demonstrate the ability to acquire a technical vocabulary coherent with themes and topics of human resource management and communicate in a clear and appropriate way in specific professional contexts.
Lifelong learning skills:
The student must demonstrate a good capacity of learning and application related to dynamics and questions concerning human resource management, to knowledge about practical case studies, and communicative functions.
