Course description

Through the learning of the fundamentals of transport Geography, the student is asked to the role of transport in the development of trade flows and the subsequent establishment of a new world order on communication networks .

Prerequisites

Basic knowledge of economics concept

Syllabus

The most recent developments in the geography of transport. Transport networks. Transport systems. Large international networks of transportation. The evolution of transport policies. The accessibility. Relationships between connectivity and accessibility. Innovation in transport and communications and the reorganization of the European area. Synergy between aviation and high-speed railway and the difficulties of integration of peripheral areas of Europe. Telecommunications and computer networks.

Teaching Methods

The course is organized in traditional lectures, analysis of case studies of topics selected by the teacher.
