Spanish Language (L-LIN/07 - MIT, 9 CFU) - Ivana Calceglia
Course description
The course aims at developing communication skills in reading, listening, speaking and writing
(CEFR: level B1/B2). It provides students with a comprehensive overview of the main phonological,
morphological and semantic aspects of the Spanish language. It will also introduce students to the main cultural, social and historical issues related to Spain and Latin America.
Prerequisites
The course has no specific prerequisites. Generally, a range of background linguistic and cultural knowledge and skills related to the Spanish world among students is expected.
Syllabus
Spanish Language (MIT, 9 CFU) - Ivana Calceglia
The course aims at developing communication skills in reading, listening, speaking and writing
(CEFR: level B1/B2). It provides students with a comprehensive overview of the main phonological,
morphological and semantic aspects of the Spanish language. It will also introduce students to the main cultural, social and historical issues related to Spain and Latin America.
Linguistic certifications:
Students already in possession of a Spanish language certification (DELE B1/B2- Diplomas de Español como Lengua Extranjera), are exempted from the written test, after communicating it and presentating the language certification to the teacher.
The exam is divided into two parts. The first part will consist of written exercises on Spanish Grammar; of two brief translations (SP>IT; IT>SP) and of a short composition in Spanish. The second part will consist of a conversation on the topics related to Spanish Culture and Society and explained during the course time.

Frontal lessons + individual or group practical exercises.
