Learning objectives: The course is aimed at providing students with historic consciousness and knowledge of one of the most important phenomenon of our times, that is globalization, by analyzing the historical excursus of economic systems and of international trade relationships.
Pre-requisites
Good knowledge of the historical process of decomposition and re-composition of economics.
Content
Outline Analysis of the meaning, roots and different dimensions of globalization. Study of the numerous historiographical angles. The European expansion. The European and Atlantic centric point of views. The beginning of world trade. Trade liberalization and the expansion of financial markets. Intercontinental connections and the global enlargement of international relations. The weaknesses of global transformations.
