Course description

The course focuses on the development of knowledge on the theoretical-epistemological elements of pedagogy, such as knowledge about education that is articulated in a variety of disciplinary fields and interpretative dimensions.
Specifically, the course intends to deepen the theme of educational professionalism, highlighting the importance of the construct of reflection as the central competence of the ducative relationship.


The required prerequisites refer to 5 indicators:

A) Knowledge and understanding skills
B) Applied knowledge and understanding
C) Autonomy of judgment
D) Communicative Skills
E) Ability to learn


The course is divided into two phases:
Step 1 - General Part:
It includes the foundations of general pedagogy as a science built around the category of human formation, with particular reference to:
1. epistemological statute of discipline
2. Theories and pedagogical models
3. definition of the object of study
4. the recipients of educational work
5. Methodological tools
6. the professional figure of the educator

Phase 2 Monographic Part:
It Includes a specific reflection on theories, constructs, methods and tools of reflective-narrative approach

Teaching Methods

All the contents of the study will be analyzed with participatory and relational methodology in order to demonstrate "in vivo" how the study of the discipline consists in investigating the possibilities and limits of educational relationships, also in its variants of helping and counseling relationships.
The reflection on one's own and on the other's experience will be of priority importance to develop skills of analysis of oneself, of the other and of the relationship itself.

Learning assessment

The assessment of the learning will take place through group and laboratory activities that will allow to record characteristics and possible difficulties in learning and to implement timely overcoming measures.
The final exam will consist of an oral argumentative interview on the whole study program (general part and monographic part).
The evaluation of the final exam will take place taking into account 5 prevailing indicators according to a specific evaluation form that will be exposed and made known to the students during the presentation of the program:

a) Knowledge and ability to understand
b) Knowledge and understanding skills applied
c) Autonomy of judgment
d) Communication skills
e) Ability to learn
