Course description

The course aims to develop and to contemporarily consolidate the acquisition of the four linguistic abilities: written and oral communication, written and oral production (Leseverständnis, Hörverständnis, Schriftlicher Ausdruck, Mündlicher Ausdruck). The student must be able to understand texts of base and average difficulty, as to express him is in the common language that in the sectorial economic-commercial. Such course intends to develop competences in German language according to a level B1/B2 of the QCER.

Prerequisites

The course departs from the study of the basic language and it is opened therefore also to the beginners.

Syllabus

The first part consists in: - phonetics and phonology - grammar of the German language: schwache Verben; starke Verben; trennbare. und untrennbare Verben; Modalverben; Positionsverben; Imperativ; Passiv; Präsens; Perfekt; Präteritum; Futur; das Substantiv; der Artikel; die Pluralbildung; Nominativ; Akkusativ; Dativ; Genitiv; Präpositionen; Personalpronomen, Possessivpronomen, Relativpronomen; Hauptsatz (Satzbau); Nebensatz (Satzbau); Satzklammer; Komparativ und Superlativ.
- analysis and use of the semantic fields of daily life: sich vorstellen, sich und andere beschreiben, die Familie, die Interessen und Hobbys, die Bildung, die Reisen, Datum und Uhrzeit, die Stadt, das Einkaufen, die Ernährung.
The second part is based on the followings themes: Arbeitswelt, Finanzwelt, Handel und Verbraucherfragen, Institutionen und Organisationen, Marketing, Tourismus und Gastronomie, Wirtschaft und Politik, Unternehmen und Unternehmensgründung.

The course consists of two parties. The first part (48 hours) is focused on written and oral exercises about morphological, lexical and syntactical aspects of German language. The second part (24 hours) is based on the study of texts of German culture, with particular attention to the German language of the economy.

Teaching Methods

The course foresees frontal lessons and interactive lessons, during which the students will learn language on authentic texts.

Textbooks

Weerning, Mondello, Dies und Das, Grammar of German with exercises, Publishing Cideb 2004. (other grammar of German language). Bilingual Dictionary of German Zanichelli or Sansone.
Collection of texts of German culture given by the teacher on the subjects analysed during the lessons.

Learning assessment

The examination articulates in a written test and in an oral interview in German.
The written test (one hour), consists in exercises on the grammar, the written understanding and the production in German language.
Oral interview:
- conversation in language about matters of life daily analysed during the course.
- understanding and discussion on the articles analysed during the course.
The written test intends to verify the acquisition of the grammar and the lexicon.
The oral test, articulated in two parts, aims to verify the abilities of understanding and production of the oral language, as well as the pronunciation and the abilities of understanding of the text in German and oral production of the same.

The students that are already in possession of a linguistic certification of knowledge of the German language equal to a level B1 or superior released by an official certifier in the last 2 years, can contact the teacher to arrange the program.
