The course aims at developing expertise to:
- Be able to manage analytic tools for planning each step of a statistical survey
- Know how to use the methodology and analytic instruments that statistics provides to data treatment (mainly, business and economic data) and data quality
- Be able to implement a survey from an operational point of view and to follow its several steps
EXPECTED LEARNING OUTCOMES:
Knowledge and understanding:
The student should be able to know the main theories and techniques for planning in each step a statistical survey to collect economic data.
Applying knowledge and understanding:
The student should be able to use the acquired knowledge in practical circumstances, applying the main statistical tools for data collection and for analysing business and economic dynamics.
Making judgements:
The student should have the maturity and the ability to choose autonomously the more suited methodologies to solve a specific problem.
Communication:
The student should be able to communicate clearly and with an adequate technical language the contents of the Course.
Lifelong learning skills:
The student should be able to show a good learning ability and autonomy in investigating in-depth the matters of the Course using the references provided by the teacher. The student should be able to select data sources and to implement the more suited instruments in the specific circumstances.
