Course description

The aim of the course is to alloow the student to acquire the following Spanish language and communications skills
- Comprehension(written and spoken) of texts and multimedia material; writing of texts.
- Knowledge of socio-cultural and historical aspects.

The course is designed to allow the student to attain a CEFR B2 proficiency level (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages .

Syllabus

Students will acquire morphosyntactical and lexical expertise through a language analysis method based on communication and contrast. Students will be encouraged to practice metalinguist thinking and develop own language skills as are required to use the Spanish language consciously and autonomously. Tuition will focus mainly on phonetical, lexical and morphosyntactic aspects of the language and therefore on the the main rules of Spanish grammar. Similarities and differences with the Italian language will be highlighted. Assisted and autonomous exercises are another prominent part of this curriculum as they facilitate the acquisition of the fundamental vocabulary required to handle formal and less formal situations in daily life. Oral and communication skills will be developed in order to increase students’ familiarity with lexical and cultural aspects of the Spanish language. This will be achieved through reading and analysing texts of various kinds and the viewing of documentaries, movies, news reports and advertisements.
