Course description

Objectives of the course:
The course intends to provide an appropriate knowledge and methodological insights to the enterprise study arising from the continuous exchange of internal and external relations to the company boundaries. The aim of the course is to provide to the student skills and abilities that will enable them to expand business vision, by focusing on the firm contextualization as a vital system.
The topics will be discussed with the student who will be able to develop reasoning skills and analysis of current environment seen by the company not only as a source of risks but also as opportunities.

Expected learning outcomes.
Knowledge and understanding: the student must demonstrate what he knows about systemic dynamics approach and functional approach to corporate governance, showing the ability to analyze key management tools used in current competitive contexts.
Ability to apply knowledge and understanding: the student must demonstrate how to apply the acquired knowledge to the exploratory study of specific cases that the teacher will illustrate during the course or at the reception for non-attendants.
Autonomy of judgement: the student should be able to assess independently the results coming from the exam
Communication skills: the student should be able to expose clearly and comprehensively to the questions of the final exam (written and oral).
Learning skills: The student must be able to study the contents proposed by the teacher through the independent analysis of further literature references in the socio-political, business and market areas that can broaden the subject matter of study.

Prerequisites

Preparatory exams provided by the order of the studies. For students coming from different first-level degree programs, an integration including a relevant bibliographic reference will be provided.

- The firm as a viable system;
- The firm and the external environment;
- Firm relations, industry and cross-border alliances;
- The evolution of the capitalism and new organizational forms;

II module (3 Cfu - 24 hours):
- Corporate Functions;
- Organizational Structure;
- Operations Management; R&D and Innovation;

III module (3 Cfu - 24 hours):
- Marketing;
- Finance;
- Strategy;
- Firm Governance and Value Creation. C. R, C, P Model.

Course organization
Lectures, testimonials, simulations, meetings with business specialists, professionals.

Assessment methods
The assessment in English language is based on a written and oral examination composed of questions aimed at evaluating the actual achievement of the objectives on part the students. The written test consists of 12 questions with closed answer and 2 themes. Each question has a variable score depending on the difficulty. The test contains assigned scores ranging from 2 to 4 points for questions with closed response and 3 to 5 points for the themes to be developed synthetically with open response. The duration of the written examination is 1 hour and 15 minutes. During the examination, the use of notes, books and informatics devices (smartphone, tablet, pc, etc.) is not allowed.
