Course description

Acquisition of scientific skills and basic techniques for the classification and recognition of the main types of rock rocks and the study of the relationship between tectonics and sedimentation and the cartographic recognition of tectonic macrostructures and stratigraphic sequences.
Knowledge and understanding: The student must demonstrate knowledge and understanding, at a basic level, the problems related to the main geological processes inherent in geology, the geodynamics of continental margins and the reading and interpretation of geological maps and the creation of profiles geological
Ability to apply knowledge and understanding: The student must demonstrate the ability to use the basic concepts acquired for the definition of different stratigraphic and tectonic contexts in the cartographic field.
Autonomy of judgment: The student must be able to autonomously recognize the spatial relations between the different tectonic-stratigraphic structures at the cartographic level.
Communication skills: The student must have the ability to recognize and describe the different themes of the course correctly using scientific language.
Learning skills: The student must be able to update himself continuously, through the consultation of texts and publications (also in English) in order to acquire the ability to deepen the topics of the geology and geological mapping sector.

Learning assessment

The objective of the exam consists in verifying the level of achievement of the previously indicated training objectives.
The exam consists of an oral test in which the ability to describe link and compare different aspects treated during the course will be evaluated.
