Organizational behavior and design (I MOD)
The course covers theories, tools and practices related to organizational design (individual, group and organization level). The course aims at giving students the fundamental tools of organizational analysis and design in order to understand how organizations operate, how they can be designed to achieve their goals, and what are the processes and the phenomena that affect their functioning. The students will be able to use tools useful to analyze and manage organizations.
The course will enhance students' competence and ability to take effective action in complex organizational settings by providing the analytic tools needed to analyze, manage, and lead public and private organizations.
Fundamentals of Management (Economia Aziendale
Foundations of organization design, coordinating mechanisms, the basic elements of organizational design, designing individual position, designing the superstructure, lateral structuring parameters, decision making parameters, contingency factors, the configurations of structure.
Learning about organizational behavior, organizational behavior and foundation competencies, understanding individual differences, perceptions and attributions, fundamentals of motivation, motivation through goal setting and reward systems, leading effectively: foundations, leading effectively: contemporary developments, developing and leading teams, managing conflict and negotiating effectively.
Lectures. Moreover, students will be trained by means of a variety of interactive teaching methods such as discussion of cases, simulations, teamwork and presentations, that enable students to gain a solid understanding of the complexities of modern organizations.

At the end of the course, learning outcomes will be tested through a final exam. The exam will consist of a written and an optional oral examination. Final written exam will consist of open-ended questions. For students attending the course the written exam could also consist of open questions related to a project work and open questions that directly refer to course material. The students who will pass the written exam with at least 26/30 could take the oral exam.
