ORGANIZATIONAL ANALYSIS AND PROJECT MANAGEMENT (II MOD)
The course analyzes the organizational issues related to project management and resource management. The course aims at giving students the fundamental tools of organizational analysis and design in order to plan, manage and control complex projects. The students will be able to use tools useful to analyze the characteristics of project plan development.
Fundamentals of organizational theory and design. Organizational Analysis and Project Management in International Firms (I)
Topics will include: Overview of project management theory. Organizational structure and project management. Project management: tools and techniques to manage temporary and project organizations. Organizational culture. Innovation and change. Team organizations. Team management. Project leadership. Conflict and power
In particular the course could be articulated as follows:
I part (28 hours)- Organizational culture, the strategic role of change, developing and leading effective teams, team building and team leadership, conflict in organizations.
II part (20 hours) – Project management growth: concepts and definitions. Organizing and staffing the project team. Project management: tools and techniques to manage temporary and project organizations
Lectures (48 hours). Moreover, students will be trained by means of a variety of interactive teaching methods such as discussion of cases, simulations, teamwork and presentations, that enable students to gain a solid understanding of the complexities of modern organizations.

The exam will consist a written and an optional oral examination. Final written exam will consist of multiple choice, a case study with open questions that directly refer to the textbook. For students attending the course the written exam could also consist of open questions related to a project work and open questions that directly refer to material covered in the course. The students who will pass the written exam with at least 26/30 could take the oral exam.
