Education objectives: The course set itself the goal to provide an appropriate knowledge base about survey, analytical and digital photogrammetry and data representation. The issues related to direct photogrammetry, satellite and UAV photogrammetry , laser scanning are also discussed. A special focus is to the new national legislation and its numerous impacts on the processes of data acquisition, orientation and photogrammetric restitution.
Knowledge and understanding: Students shall prove to know the main topics concerning the mathematical foundations of photogrammetry as well as the photogrammetric process with reference to the flight planning and to the steps of data acquisition, orientation and photogrammetric restitution. The skills about national and international standards on geographical information with reference to national and european legislation are required.
Ability to apply knowledge and understanding: Students shall prove to apply the acquired topics and theoretical proficiencies, required for the management of the photogrammetric process and geographical data.
Judgment autonomy: Students shall autonomously evaluate and assess all the parameters for aerial or terrestrial photogrammetry related to data acquisition, orientation and photogrammetric restitution.
Communicative skills: Students shall acquire the skill of reading the different territorial contexts and the inherent needs in the representation of the geographic objects.
Learning skills: Students shall be capable of continuously update their skills, by reading books, articles and technical rules, to update the personal knowledge based on the new required standards about survey, processing, management and use of geographical information.
