Course description

Knowledge of the basic characteristics of the apparatuses that make up the human body and the interrelation existing between them. Recognition of the close correlation between structure and function. Ability to recognize macroscopic and microscopic characteristics of individual organs.

Prerequisites

Foundations of Human Biology.

Syllabus

Know the basic characteristics of the apparatuses that make up the human body and the interrelation existing between them. Recognizing the close correlation between structure and function. Ability to recognize macroscopic and microscopic characteristics of individual organs.

• Introduction to the Study of Human Anatomy; nomenclature; general information on Apparatutes. Plans of the Human Body and concepts of Anatomical Terminology.
• LOCOMOTOR APPARATUS:
Organization of the skeleton and its functions; Microscopic structure long, flat and short bones; general information on Joints. Morpho-functional characteristics skeletal muscles and classification criteria. Functional Evaluation. Motor skills.
• CIRCULATORY APPARATUS:
Large and Small Circulation. Heart location, relationships and structure. Aorta and its collateral branches; Vena Cava. Microscopic structure of vessels.
• LYMPHATIC APPARATUS:
Distribution and structure of lymphatic vessels and lymphnodes. Spleen and Thymus.
• RESPIRATORY APPARATUS:
Seat, ratios and structure of nasal cavities, pharynx, larynx, trachea, bronchi and lungs.
• DIGESTIVE APPARATUS:
Location, relationships and structure of oral cavity, esophagus, stomach, small intestine and large intestine. Salivary Glands, Liver and Pancreas.
• UROPOIETIC APPARATUS:
Location, relationships and structure of Kidney and urinary tract.
• MALE AND FEMALE GENITAL APPARATUS.
• CENTRAL AND PERIPHERAL NERVOUS SYSTEM:
General information - Organization of the Central Nervous System - Organization of the Peripheral Nervous System.
• ENDOCRINE APPARATUS:
Location, structure and function of the Endocrine Glands.
• HEARING APPARATUS.

Learning assessment

The final Exam Evaluation will take place taking into account 5 prevalent Indicators following a specific Evaluation Report:

 Midterm Test
The Results of Midterm Test will not determine the Final Evaluation.

 Written Test

 Oral Test

The exam will focus on general and specific questions regarding the lesson program. To pass the exam will take into account the candidate's ability to synthesize, the clarity and correctness of the exposure. The vote will be expressed in 30/30 and the minimum evaluation to pass the exam is 18/30.
