The course aims to provide students with an adequate knowledge of the operating rules to protect consumer activity in the current system of the European single market, with particular attention to the jurisprudential developments on the subject and to the various forms of consumer protection.
More specifically, the course aims to provide the following skills and competences:
Knowledge and understanding:
The course offers the tools to understand, on the one hand, the discipline of consumer relationships and, on the other hand, the doctrinal and jurisprudential developments on the subject, also in light of the internal and European regulatory developments.
- Ability to apply knowledge and understanding:
The comparison with the normative and jurisprudential texts aims to favor a concrete approach to the issue. In particular, the study of jurisprudence solicits the reflection on the practical implications of the examined legislation, on the relative operational criticalities and on the possible conflicts that can be found in practice.
Autonomy of judgment:
The study of the positive data in constant confrontation with the various doctrinal and jurisprudential positions aims at stimulating the student's independence of judgment and his ability to critically interpret legal texts. This in order to identify concrete solutions appropriate to the interests at stake.
Communication skills.
The consultation of normative texts and sentences, accompanied by reflection and discussion in the classroom on the various theses proposed in the doctrine, aims to favor both the acquisition of an adequate legal language and the development of dialectical and argumentative skills.
Learning ability.
The ability to learn is stimulated by the subjection to students of 'cases' on which to discuss, with particular attention to the applicable discipline and possible solutions.
