Knowledge and understanding:fundamentals of Matlab and Control Toolbox. Applying knowledge and understanding: the student must be able to
write simple algorithms in Matlab. Making judgements: the student must be able to identify the main
techniques to analyse a random phenomenon.
Communication skills: the student must be able to explain the subjects of the course, by using the precise scientific language.
Learning skills: the student must be able to consult books and papers
different from those adopted by the teacher.
Introduction to Matlab. Arrays and matrices. Linearly spaced vectors [2 hours]. Matricial operations [2 hours]. Elementary functions [2 hours]. The file in Matlab [2 hours]. Relational and logical operators [2 hours]. If then else [2 hours]. The commands for and while [2 hours]. Plotting in Matlab [2 hours]. Signal analysis. The Control toolbox. Exercises [8 hours].
Introduction to Matlab.
Implementation in Matlab and discussion of two exercises. The first exercise regards problems of Systems theory; the second one is a problem which must be solved resorting to the elementary commands and functions of Matlab.
Lectures are in Italian. The professor is fluent in English and is available to interact with students in English.
