The objective of the course is to provide specialized knowledge about the management of courts, by promoting understanding of work processes and the organization and use of resources.
Particular attention will also be paid to the following topics: institutional settings, mission and purposes of the judicial system; the modernization process; the actors and functions of the courts; the caseflow management; Information and Communication Technologies supporting work processes (telematic process); the performance evaluation.
The course aims to develop the student's ability to understand the functioning and administration of courts; to make independent judgments about business processes and the performance of the courts; to develop those learning abilities to undertake subsequent studies with a high degree of autonomy.
Knowledge and ability to understand
The course aims to provide specialist knowledge related to the administration and operation of judicial offices, facilitating the understanding of work processes and the organization of economic resources. Knowledge and understanding are achieved and tested by carrying out lectures and presenting business cases.
Ability to apply knowledge and understanding
The knowledge that the course aims to impart and the ability of applied understanding of the administration of the judicial offices is fundamental for the jurist who in the course of his profession will interact in different ways with the judicial offices. The means of verifying these skills to apply knowledge and understanding consists in conducting case studies. Autonomy of judgment
At the end of the course, the student will be able to identify and understand the logics and the functioning mechanisms of the judicial offices within the judicial system, the autonomy of judgment is developed and tested through the study of business cases.
Communication skills
At the end of the course, the student will be able to understand and communicate the logic of administration and control of the judicial offices. Communication skills are developed through exercises and through the presentation and discussion in the classroom of business cases. The acquisition of communication skills will be verified during the exam through the assessment of the student's expository and argumentative ability, communicative effectiveness, terminological correctness.
Learning skills
At the end of the course, the student will have acquired learning skills that will be necessary to undertake further studies with a high degree of autonomy. Learning skills are achieved and tested in the context of lectures, through practical exercises and evaluated through the examination.
