Education objectives: The educational objectives of the course are related to the knowledge of the main fixing and maintenance activities of the ship onboard plants, as well as to the technical management of the ship to preserve the safety of ship and navigation, in case of fire or emergency.
Knowledge and understanding: The student shall prove to know the main topics related to the technical management of the ship and the maintenance activities of the ship onboard plants.
Ability to apply knowledge and understanding: Students shall prove to apply the acquired topics and theoretical proficiencies, required to preserve the efficiency of the ship onboard plants.
Judgment autonomy: Students shall autonomously evaluate the main onboard sources of hazard, depending on the ship type, and shall be capable of applying the appropriate corrective actions, if required.
Communicative Skills: Students shall acquire the skill of organize and supervise the operations of technical management and fixing of the ship onboard plants.
Learning Skills: Students shall be capable of continuously update their skills, by reading books, articles and technical rules, in order to update the own knowledge to the new safety standards and operational procedures.
