Course description

The course aims at integrating the basic skills of students with advanced methods for the analysis of structures relying upon nonlinear models and finite-element based computational tools.

Prerequisites

Contents of basic courses in Calculus, Informatics and Mechanics of Solids and Structures, with special emphasis on Continuum Mechanics and one-dimensional structural models.

Nonlinear problems (18 h)
Computer procedures for FE analysis of 1D structures (18h)
Computer procedures for FE analysis of 2D structures (18h)

Nonlinear problems (8+8 h)
Computer procedures for FE analysis of 1D structures (8 + 8 h)
Computer procedures for FE analysis of 2D structures (8 + 8 h).

Teaching Methods

The course includes both theoretical and practical sessions.
