Course description

The "Organizational Behavior" module aims to develop participants' knowledge of the main theoretical approaches to the study of human behavior within organizations, with specific focus on the determinants and consequences of organizational behaviors and possible application analysis tools. The course also aims to identify effective operational conflict resolution practices induced by individual differences within organizations.

Prerequisites

Knowledge of the fundamentals of the Organizational studies (micro and meso level of organizational analysis).

Syllabus

To develop people-oriented organizations and skills; Organizational culture and socialization; Individual differences: self-concept, personality and emotions; Values, attitudes, skills and work satisfaction; Motivation through the contents of the work; Motivation through equity, expectation and goal setting; Individual and group decision making processes; Group dynamics; Team and group work; Conflict management and negotiation with insights.

Teaching Methods

Lectures, classroom exercises, eventual seminar meetings for the presentation of concrete business cases with selected witnesses of excellence.

Kreitner, R., Kinicki, A. (Ed. 2004 or following editions). Comportamento Organizzativo. Apogeo (chapters 1, 3, 5, 6, 8, 9, 11, 12, 13, 14).

Learning assessment

Oral examination, divided into questions to verify the level of learning of the principles, concepts and topics indicated in the program.
This verification will be conducted on the basis of the following criteria: level of knowledge and in-depth study of the principles of study of organizational behavior, properties of language and clarity of presentation.

2. Objective of the test: verification of the student's level of learning on fundamental aspects of the subject
3. Method of administration: oral
4. Timetable: based on the exam schedule (Esse tre)
5. Duration: oral exam from about 15 to 30 minutes
6. Type: interview
7. Final measurement of the exam: the student will reach the minimum score if he can demonstrate the acquisition of basic knowledge related to the study of organizational behaviors: the student will obtain the maximum score if he demonstrates that he has understood, deepened and introjected everyone the topics indicated in the program, being also able to grasp the interconnections between them, and to provide concrete application examples in relation to their managerial implications.

Expected results: the student must be able to build clear and comprehensive mental maps for each of the conceptual category included in the exam program in relation to the individual constructs relating to the study of organizational behaviors, using the nomenclature characteristics of the discipline.
