Course description

The aim of the course is to provide students with the knowledge of the pathophysiology of the endocrine, muscular and bone system and the role of physical activity.

Prerequisites

Basic concepts of biology, biochemistry, anatomy, physiology and general pathology

Acromegaly prolactinoma.
Hypothyroidism-Hyperthyroidim- Thyroiditis- Thyroid tumors. Hyperparathyroidism, Multiple Endocrine Neoplasms.
Cushing's syndrome.
Addison's disease.
Amenorrhea, polycystic ovary syndrome.
The fractures. Osteoporosis.
Paget's disease. Osteomyelitis.
Bone tumors. Osteoarthritis.
Rheumatoid arthritis.
Gout.
Systemic lupus erythematosus.
Myopathies.
Dystrophies: Duchenne, Becker, Steinert.

Learning assessment

Final exam: An oral exam in which the knowledge of the different topics covered during the course will be assessed, the ability to synthesis, the clarity and correctness of the exposure and the ability to link and integrate the contents.
The evaluation will be expressed in 30/30 and the minimum to pass the exam is 18/30.
