Course description

The course is aimed to educate students about the work safety, giving them the basic knowledge about risks related to sport and physical activity, in order to allow them to play an active role in the prevention of these risks.

Knowledge and understanding ability: The student should demonstrate to know and understand health problems linked to health and safety in sport and physical activity settings.

Ability to apply knowledge and comprehension: The student should be able to use his knowledge to manage environmental and management issues in order to avoid health damages when engages his work.

Judgment autonomy: The student should be able to evaluate autonomously the different situations presented by the teacher during the examination and to apply what he learned in the fields of health promotion and prevention, considering the safety.

Communication ability: The student should be able to explain the issues learned in an easy but scientifically correct way, even in the form of a composition.

Learning ability: The student should be able to keep up to date continuously, becoming able to improve and enhance his knowledge about hygiene, prevention and safety through an independent educational path, by referring to texts and publications (also in English language).


The student should have an adequate knowledge of cellular biology, human anatomy and physiology, and a basic knowledge of general, human and environmental hygiene.


Health, safety and movement. Physical exercise (AFA and ET) as a strategy for the prevention and management of MCNTs.

Health and safety in the workplace: the reference legislation (Legislative Decree 81/08) declined in the motor and sports fields.
Physical, chemical and biological risks. Cross-sectional risks, organization and management of activities.
Risk communication. Unexpected events and emergency management: collective panic.

Organization of social and health services in the area.
Health protection of amateur, non-competitive and competitive physical activity.
Role of the general practitioner, the pediatrician and the branch specialist in promoting physical activity.

The certification of suitability for the practice of physical activity and sports.
First aid, BLSD and AED.

The sport facilities.
Hygiene and health regulations for the management of services for sport and physical activities.
Structural, plant, organizational and hygienic requirements.
Environmental comfort: thermal, acoustic and visual well-being.

Technical and regulatory elements for the assessment of management quality and safety of facilities and systems intended for the practice of physical activity and sport.

- Nutrition and health: evaluation of the nutritional status; balanced and balanced diet; food groups and protective substances

The role of adapted physical activities in the health protection and promotion.
The contribution of the AMPA Kinesiologist to the planning, organization and management of adapted physical activity.

Learning assessment

The learning verification is based on an oral examination aimed to evaluate the ability of the student in relating and comparing the different course issues. ON THE BASIS OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC EVOLUTION, THE EXAM COULD BE PERFORMED THROUGH A WRITTEN FORM, WITH THE SAME EVALUATION CRITERIA. The aim of the examination is to verify the achievement of the course educational goals.

Lectures are in Italian. The professor is fluent in English and is available to interact with students in English, also during the examination.
